"Finishing My Mission in the Big Cottonwood Stake"

June 26, 2017

Dear Family,

This week flew by and we were both super thrown off because we thought we had two weeks left... SUPRISE this was the last week of the transfer. So, I will be staying here and finishing my mission in the Big Cottonwood Stake in Holladay, Utah. Its kinda crazy how fast this has been. There was a night this week that I woke up at 3 am and my mind was flying. I had so many thoughts about the mission and the goals that I wanted to accomplish before I go home. Its gonna be amazing. President Hillier told us that if we keep pushing we will accomplish some of our greatest work these last few months!

We spoke at a homecoming this week. That’s a weird experience. There was so much energy and excitement; I couldn't believe it. He had gotten home this Friday and was sitting on the stand next to his stake president. You could tell he had worked hard and came back different.

This week we...

- Ended up running down Highland Drive in 90 degree weather to get back to the car in time to get to dinner
- Alias didn't get baptized, but he is super exited to and will be soon!
- We had a miracle when I asked and awesome person to use the bathroom and we taught a lesson instead.

Inspired goals are an opportunity to find the vision God has for us.

Love,
Elder Moe

"Our Own Church History Experience"

"Holladay and Spanish Zone activity"
June 19, 2017

Hey! Glad to hear Nauvoo went awesome! We had our own church history experience on Monday visiting all the grave sights of the modern prophets! 11 of the 15 prophets are buried there. It was cool to see them all and really made it real.

We had a giant Spanish zone and Holladay zone barbecue afterwards at a park. There was like a ton of yard games, but we just had a giant group and played SOCCER! It was epic. President Hillier had to come over and tell us to come eat when the food was all done. We were just going to keep playing. At the end I played spike ball with Elder Alkema, Meyers, and Palomeque. Elder Meyers said we were practicing for Provo... lol

Lizzie got baptized this week! She is awesome. Her dad was able to baptize her and it was such a special experience. This Sunday she got confirmed and her brother got interviewed to receive the priesthood. We are going to be planning a temple trip with her dad and brother soon!

So the picture you got was actually someone who is not a member of the ward who let us help her! We were so grateful to do it! Send me the pictures! We ask so many people if we can help them and they never say yes...

We had dinner last week when I was on exchanges with Elder Mickelson. He is from Idaho and is super cool, but doesn't do spicy... There was a spicy side and a non-spicy side. Elder Mickelson took from the non-spicy side, but Idaho non-spicy and Acapulco non-spicy is different. haha

The work goes on!!

We were over in Glendale for a lesson with Elias at his other grandma’s house and we saw some people sitting on their porch. The spirit prompted me, and I went to talk to them real quick. They immediately asked if we could pray with them. I said the prayer and looked up and the girl was like, "oh my goodness" and ran in her house crying. We gave them a copy of the Book of Mormon with mormon.org written in it so they could contact their missionaries. I have to admit the West side was pretty cool.

Love,
Elder Moe

P.S. I am gonna be able to grow a sweet stache when I get home.

The Eternal Salvation of Families

Elder Rawcliffe & Moe
June 8, 2017

Hey I love you guys!

Don't have a lot of time but today I was sitting in the temple and I prayed and thanked God for my family. I thought about all my immediate family and then I went on to all my grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and everyone I know. We need to all be able to be in the temple together. That thought brought so much Joy. I love every single one of you and I want all of you to be a part of my family forever. We need to love and lift and carry each other. There is nothing more important that we have here than the eternal salvation of families.

This has been a crazy time! Having Monday as a proselyting day was awesome. It’s cool to be able to take the sacrament, have the Sabbath day, and then go and work the next day.

Elias came to church with Brother Neal this Sunday and had a great time. His grandma bought him some pants, shoes, and a vest. He looked awesome!

I was falling asleep in one of the sacrament meetings on Sunday and I realized the only thing I could do to stay awake was to bear my testimony. I told them about why I came up, and everyone was cracking up. I hope my testimony made sense!

Elder Rawcliffe is awesome! We have gotten along super well and he is a great leader! He is a pro violin player, has perfect pitch, and is so very talented with everything music! I love him!

Love,

Elder Moe!

"His Grandma Just Threw Him Out"

"Double Rainbows, Mt. Olympus, and the Book of Mormon"

May 29, 2017

Hey!
This week was sick!
( I feel like I say that every week but it is so true )

We met a lot of new people this week!

We went on exchanges with Elder Haight and Metekingi and we found this really cool kid named Elias! We knocked on the door and his grandma just threw him out and said, "These are the guys that know about God" and then closed the door. LOL  He was super cool and his grandma is awesome too. He has been reading the Book of Mormon and said he made it to the "lined pages" or the columns. haha

We got to help do some baptismal interviews for the Swahili Elders. Sister Vutagwa, who is a new Sister from Kenya, came to translate. It was a family of 6 and they were super cool! At first they were pretty shy, but they warmed up fast. We brought one of our investigators, Yao, and we got to go to the baptism. It was sweet. It was an hour and a half long though...

I have really focused on loving God with all my heart. I hear that and I say that, but this week I was thinking about what that really means. I was thinking about why I am doing the things I do. Am I studying for me or am I studying for God?  Am I on a mission for me, or am I on a mission for Jesus Christ? What does it mean to love the Lord with your whole heart? What does it mean to keep your eye single to the glory of God? I want to find out the answers to these! I want to do all things for the glory of God.

I love you!
